Main Title Sequence
Summary
Assembled from primarily archival sources, the main title sequence for “The Devil Next Door” is a non-linear story exploring the bizarre reality of a Nazi hiding out in Middle America. We touch on a few story-specific details, but for the most part, this sequence is backstory and atmosphere–setting up the tone of the show. We had a fairly clear vision for where we wanted to go when we first started to pitch ideas, so we did our own archival media search parallel to Production’s search. For instance, some shots, like the car submerging in red paint in a factory, were fortunate finds and stumbled upon after many hours of watching vintage Americana industrial videos.

Map Re-creation
Summary
We also created a series of maps for the show. Designed to look like they were from authentic archival media sources, these maps exist in the cut without calling attention to themselves as being “graphics.”
